DKI Provincial Government will regulate PMKS in Jakarta during Ramadan

JAKARTA, POSKOTA.CO.ID – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) will control people with Social Welfare Problems (PMKS) or homeless people who often appear in a number of points in the capital, especially before and during the months of Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr.

Generally they are seen filling suburban areas, sidewalks and in front of shophouses carrying carts that they use to get around to earn a living.

Quite a few, PMKS places their children in carts when doing activities on the streets.

“If there really are immigrants like that, we will definitely organize them for cleanliness together with Jakarta,” said the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, February 10 2026.

Pramono said that this was done so that Jakarta becomes a safe, comfortable city and makes people feel happy when carrying out activities, including during the momentum of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

“We want Jakarta to be safe, comfortable and its people happy,” said Pramono.

PMKS will be handed over to social institutions

Separately, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Satriadi, said that this control regarding PMKS in the capital area would be carried out with a joint team between the Social Service, Transportation Service, Subdistrict and Subdistrict Elements as well as the TNI and Polri which would be carried out in five areas of the city.

He said that from the beginning of January to February 9 2026, his party together with related stakeholders secured 178 PMKS.
