MediaBantenCyber.co.id (MBC), Lebak — Two young men in Malingping District, Lebak Regency, were named suspects in a case of alleged religious blasphemy related to the action of stepping on the holy Koran. The police also revealed the chronology of the incident.
Head of Public Relations of the Banten Regional Police, Police Commissioner Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, explained that the incident occurred on Wednesday, April 8 2026, at around 21.30 WIB, at a salon in the Malingping area.
“This case started with accusations of theft made by suspect NU against suspect ME. Because ME did not admit the accusation, NU then asked ME to prove it by swearing while stepping on the holy Koran,” said Maruli, Sunday (12/4/2026).
According to him, this action was carried out at the direction of NU and was recorded using a cell phone, then distributed widely until it went viral in the community.
The police acted quickly after receiving the report on April 10 2026 and succeeded in arresting the two perpetrators.
“The two suspects who were arrested had the initials NU (23) and ME (22). NU’s role was to ask for the oath and direct the video recording, while ME carried out the action,” he explained.
In handling this case, the police also secured a number of pieces of evidence in the form of three cellphones, a copy of the holy Koran, and the clothes worn at the time of the incident.
For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 300, Article 301 and Article 305 of the Criminal Code with the threat of a maximum prison sentence of five years.
At the end of his statement, Maruli appealed to the public to remain calm and not be easily provoked by information circulating on social media.
“We urge the public not to distribute the video again because it could trigger unrest,” he concluded. (*)

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
