POSKOTA.CO.ID – Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Akhmad Wiyagus emphasized the importance of strengthening the role of the Fire Department (Damkar) and Rescue, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and the Community Protection Unit (Satlinmas) as the front guard in protecting the community from various potential disturbances to peace and public order.
This confirmation was conveyed by Wiyagus when he was the Inspector of the Commemoration Ceremony for the 107th Anniversary of Fire and Rescue, the 76th Anniversary of Satpol PP, and the 64th Anniversary of Satlinmas at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium, Palembang City, South Sumatra, Thursday, April 30 2026.
“The goal [organisasi tersebut] there is only one thing, namely ensuring that people are active [bisa] calmly, feeling protected and protected from the potential danger of fire or disturbance of order,” he said.
Wiyagus explained that these three elements have a strategic role in supporting the creation of peace, public order and community protection (Trantibumlinmas).

Therefore, local governments need to pay serious attention to strengthening institutions, capacity and operational support in the field.
He encouraged the acceleration of the formation of independent Fire and Rescue Services in the regions, including strengthening Volunteer Fire Fighters (Redkar) as part of a participation-based community protection system.
Apart from that, regional governments are also asked to optimize prevention efforts through drafting and updating regional regulations, as well as ensuring the achievement of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) in the Transtibumlinmas and fire sub-districts.

Strengthening the quality of human resources (HR) for Damkar, Satpol PP and Satlinmas officials is also an important concern, including in supporting the effectiveness of enforcing Regional Regulations (Perda) and Regional Head Regulations (Perkada).
“We are strengthening synergistic collaboration with stakeholders, TNI, Polri, and all elements of society in order to make the tasks of the Fire and Rescue Department a success, as well as Satpol PP and Satlinmas,” he stressed.
