Police Deploy 1,436 Joint Personnel to Secure Student Alliance Demonstration at Monas

NEW KEBAYORAN, POSKOTA.CO.ID – A total of 1,436 joint personnel were deployed to secure the Student Alliance and Civil Society demonstration which was planned to be held in the area south of the National Monument (Monas), Gambir, Central Jakarta, Friday, March 6 2026.

Thousands of personnel come from Polda Metro Jaya, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, as well as Polsek ranks.

“We are here to serve our brothers and sisters who express their opinions. Personnel in the field do not carry firearms and are instructed to always prioritize a humanist, persuasive and professional attitude,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Reynold EP Hutagalung, when confirmed by Poskota, Friday, March 6 2026.

Reynold emphasized that the officers on duty were not equipped with firearms and were asked to prioritize a humanist approach in security.

However, he also reminded the demonstrators not to fight the officers and work together to maintain a conducive situation, and appealed to the demonstrators to maintain order and not take actions that could trigger chaos.

“Please convey your aspirations in an orderly and peaceful manner, and do not take any unlawful actions,” said Reynold.

Apart from that, Reynold also asked the people around the Monas area not to fall for provocation during the action.

Road users are also advised to look for alternative routes to avoid traffic congestion.

“Traffic arrangements are situational and will be adjusted to the escalation of crowd numbers on the ground,” said Reynold.
